The Unit consists of a Hedland-based media manager, script writers, editors and uses the services of an awarded cinematographer.

The Media Unit makes resources for Pilbara Aboriginal languages but is also available to the public as a fee-for-service unit. It specialises in the production of media aimed at, or about, Pilbara Aboriginal people, languages , culture and history .

Services the Unit can provide for fee-for-service include:
