Donna McLaren and Margaret Florey from the Resource Network for Linguistic Diversity (RNLD) came up to Hedland in October to conduct a three-day workshop on the Master-Apprentice Language Learning Program through their Documenting and Revitalising Indigenous Languages (DRIL) initiative. Several Wangka Maya staff members and our Chairman Bruce Thomas attended the workshop.
Two mother-daughter Master-Apprentice pairs from outside the Pilbara also travelled to Hedland to attend the workshops. A Noongar pair came up from Bunbury and a Gamilaraay pair came all the way from Boggabilla, NSW.
